My new writing technique

Now, instead of writing in OneNote, like I used to do back in 2010, I am writing my stories directly in WordPress and often, publish for the future directly as I am creating the article for the first time.

This means that you might see in the schedule an article with 0 words. Often, that’s because either I am currently working on it, or I have decided which chapter I am going to work on next without having the time to actually write it.

If you see a chapter with less than 50 words, often, they won’t be the first 50 words of the article but rather a summary of what I want to write.

This is risky, because I if forget about it, it will automatically be published when the day comes, but at the same time, doing it kind of forces me to write and that’s a good thing.

The fact that I am writing in WordPress helps me a lot, since I am longer writing from a single computer, and I never managed to make OneNote work well over Skydrive or dropbox.

Speaking of the schedule, I have now added in black the week-end breaks, and I have brought back the empty days, now in gray, so that it’s easier to spot them.

I also revamped my Story Status page with icons, so that it is much easier to see which stories are still being published and which are on hold, on hiatus or completed.

Finally, the first two rows at the top now show keywords for the stories for easier browsing, and a search box was added to the right column.

I don’t even know why I didn’t do all of that back in 2010-2011! Maybe I didn’t know how…
